On the changes of quantitative numerals 11–19 in Caucasian Persian (Tat) and Northern Talyshi

Two of the Western Iranian languages spoken in territory current Azerbaijan Republic, Caucasian Persian (Tat) and Northern Talyshi, belonging to southwestern northwestern branches languages, respectively, have many common phonetic grammatical features. These commonalities are due genetic relationship between them (indigenous heritage), as well language contacts interactions them, presumably during a certain historical period. In addition, there is another important circumstance that has led conditioning some these commonalities, namely superstrative influence Azerbaijani language, which acquired status dominant region last century. Although on its Talyshi been investigated separate topics by researchers, similar changes caused “dominant” not studied till now. This work an attempt fill this gap also create precedent for further examination two from point view. The presented article case study ongoing change composition series quantitative numerals 11–19. It aims highlight reasons examining using comparative-typological method. Given both classified endangered UNESCO [Moseley 2010, map 11–12], prominence non-native their strength, rate displacement native forms very crucial perhaps one most tasks modern dialectology linguistics.
